Innovation Milestone: Valeo Inaugurates a New Production Facility in Veszprém

On 12 September, Veszprém hosted a special ceremony marking the inauguration of Valeo’s latest production facility—another milestone in the company’s presence in Hungary. The French-owned technology company has operated in the city since 1993 and, over the decades, has become one of the region’s largest employers and a key player in automotive innovation.

The Valeo plant in Veszprém manufactures steering-column switches, sensors, smart keys, head-up displays and camera control units. The newly inaugurated cleanroom will enable the production of the latest, sixth-generation automotive camera systems.

At the conclusion of the event, Attila Katona, Managing Director of the Veszprém site, delivered a ceremonial address:

“We are extremely proud to have successfully completed this development despite the challenges facing the industry. The new production facility represents not only a technological advance but also a forward-looking opportunity for growth. However, this achievement was made possible above all by the dedication of our employees. The investment creates high-value-added jobs and helps Hungary further strengthen its position on the international automotive innovation map. We must not only receive but also give back by supporting education, future generations and local communities. This commitment to responsibility is what makes our success complete.”
